Chief of Sales and Investor Relations for GroundFloor. Mr. Morshed brings 25 years of experience in the real estate sector to GroundFloor. His focus since 2008 has been on urban infill acquisitions with a focus on repurposing buildings as well as ground-up development. Prior to joining GroundFloor in the Austin office, Mr. Morshed was co-founder and CEO of Vertu Development which focused on ground-up residential and mixed-use speculative projects in Austin’s urban core sectors. He is also the senior partner in the Morshed Group, a longstanding luxury broker practice at Sotheby’s International consistently ranking in the top 1%. Mr. Morshed is a graduate of University of Texas - Austin with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a program consistently ranked in the top 3, nationally.

Controller of GroundFloor. Ms. Pastel has extensive alternative asset accounting, wealth management, and investment banking experience. She has held the position of Controller for real estate development and private equity firms, Associate in the Finance Control Group at Morgan Stanley, Senior Fund Accountant at BNY Mellon, and Fund Accountant and Investor Relations Manager for hedge funds in New York City. Ms. Pastel received a Master of Business Administration degree from Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business in New York City and is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas.


Greg Mattlage is the founder and CEO of Catamount Capital, LLC, a Private Investment firm based in Dallas, Texas. Under Greg’s direction, Catamount has been sponsoring private direct investment opportunities for its capital partners since 2005. Catamount’s main focus is acquiring, developing, owning, and operating real estate assets primarily in the multifamily and single-family residential housing sector. Prior to launching our company, he served as Vice President of Investments for Citigroup and Vice President of Investments for UBS Financial Services. Greg was raised in Steamboat Springs, CO. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Baylor University, and a master’s degree in Management from Washington University-St. Louis.

Alan McDonald is a co-founder of GroundFloor and today serves in an advisory role for the firm. His career spans decades successfully developing real estate across the DFW Metroplex. Notably he started the successful City Homes company considered a pioneer in the gentrification of Knox Park and Uptown, which was later sold to Centex Homes. Subsequently, Mr. McDonald founded Incap Fund and acquired significant land assets across North Oak Cliff, East Dallas and Fort Worth with backing from prominent private equity firms. Mr. McDonald was instrumental in launching GroundFloor’s initial multifamily strategy and remained active through exit of the initial portfolio.
